Position Description - Description We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on electrochemical carbon dioxide activation in intermediate temperature systems. The work is sponsored by Lehigh University Research Accelerator program with a team of four faculty; Prof. McIntosh (ChBE), Prof. Snyder (ChBE), Prof. Rangarajan (ChBE) and Prof. Kiely (MSE, ChBE). The project duration is one year and the position is available immediately with some flexibility in start date.

Duties Responsibilities include design, synthesis, fabrication and testing of electrochemical devices and their material components, including studying ionic conductivity in electrolytes, the catalytic and electrocatalytic activity of the electrode components, and optimization of the device based on electrochemical tests. The postdoctoral scholar will conduct this experimental work, analyze and interpret data, present results and prepare reports.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, chemistry, or a closely related field.

The successful candidate must have a strong publication record in high-impact journals and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

Expertise in catalysis, electrocatalysis, and electrochemistry are of particular interest.

This is an exempt position and qualifies for all the benefits of the University with the exception that Research Associates receive a two-week paid leave of absence in lieu of vacation during a one-year period.
