Position Description - The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University is beginning the process to recruit its inaugural Associate Dean for Experiential Learning (ADEL). Experiential learning (EL) is a centerpiece for strategic growth in the Rossin College. The ADEL will lead the development of this strategy and the growth of associated programs with the ultimate goals of enhancing the learning environment for our students and advancing Lehigh’s reputation as a leader in engineering education.

The ADEL will have oversight responsibilities for the enhancement of experiential learning in the undergraduate and professional curricula in the Rossin College and in collaboration with the other Lehigh colleges. Current efforts include implementing effective educational pedagogy across our curricula, including through our participation in the Kern Entrepreneurship Education Network (KEEN); expanding our interdisciplinary, client-driven, capstone design program; and enhancing our related professional programs, such as our Technical Entrepreneurship M.Eng. Program.

The ADEL will also serve as the primary Rossin College liaison to experiential-learning programs across campus, including Lehigh’s Mountaintop Initiative; the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity, and Innovation; the Office of International Affairs; the Office for Equity and Community; and the four other Lehigh colleges. The ADEL will lead the efforts to assess and broaden EL opportunities for the Rossin College students, and to support the communication of student outcomes through EL portfolios and related mechanisms. The ADEL will also coordinate with peer universities and partners to share best practices and to raise the visibility of the Rossin College.
