Registration is now open for THATCamp Lehigh Valley 2014. Short for "The Humanities and Technology Camp", THATCamp is a user-generated "unconference" on digital humanities. THATCamp was originally the brainchild of the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, where the first THATCamp was held in 2008; since then, more than sixty THATCamps have convened across the U.S. and internationally. Grant to Expose Civil Engineering "Hidden Collections"

Lehigh University has been awarded a $93,700 grant under the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) Cataloging Hidden Special Collections and Archives Program funded by the Mellon Foundation to enhance scholarly access to books, records, and maps held by the Lehigh University Libraries Special Collections. This two-year project, "Bridge and Building Forensics: Civil Engineering Archives at Lehigh University," will process and create finding aids for six civil engineering archival collections, including the papers of John Fisher; Blair Birdsall; Willis Slater; and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. LTS Unveils Collaborative Learning Space in EWFM Library

LTS has unveiled a new collaborative learning space on the fifth floor south end of E.W. Fairchild-Martindale Library. The space incorporates multiple whiteboards, writable surfaces, two new flat screens, and adds more than 85 seats to accommodate flexible learning.
